Golden Members Poetry Club:
At its inception the club had only four (4) members (all ladies), L. Leila Deonarine, Joycelyn Horsford, Vera Sebro-Roberts, Patsy Stewart. The late Euton Jarvis, Paulina Woods, Breata Dick-Melville, Natalie Solomon and Louis Vilain joined later. The club meetings are a forum for humorous, heated and edifying discussions. These discussions became the basis for the topics of the poems contained within this book.
The members have become prolific writers and performance poets, and have put on three major productions: Poetry in Motion in March 2017, Nostalgia in October 2017 and Poetry Plus in March 2018 and also engage in several readings and literary functions. In 2017 the members also had some of their pieces published in the island’s social magazine; I Am.
October 2nd 2018, the club’s book, Aye, Aye, Seniors Can Write Poetry Too! was published. On Sunday January 27th 2019, the club hosted a grand “Book Celebration” to mark the their achievement.

Today I want to introduce myself to the world. I am now beginning to live my dream of being a published poet. I am 55 years old and am the mother of one child. I am also a song writer, business woman and an ordained minister.
I started writing poetry as a teenager and will continue to do so, until my life on earth expires. I like listening to people and then using poetry to express their joys, sadness, pain, anger, death and everyday life. The essence of our life is summed up in past, present and future expectations as expressed in my anthology The Essence of Life in Poetry published in 2019. I am one of the authors of the anthology of poetry; Aye, Aye, Seniors Can Write Poetry Too!

Eileen Trim-Long:
Eileen was born on the 14th June, 1960 in the island of Tobago. She has lived at Crown Point all her life. In the year 2019, she married her sweetheart husband, Kelvin and decided to spend some time with him in the United States of America (USA) where he resides.
Because of the pandemic crisis in the world, she got stuck in the USA and with that she thought she might as well use her leisure time to write her life story; The Unforgettable Moments something she has always wanted to do.
The inspiration came because of the many changes that happened in her life. She also wanted to leave a legacy for the younger generation when she passes on, for example, her nieces and nephews and their children, her sisters, brothers, her relatives, friends and all whom it may concern.
Paulina Woods-Lewis:
My name is Paulina Woods-Lewis. I am 71 years of age. I was born in the village of Pembroke, Tobago and grew up in the village of Patience Hill, Tobago. I have been blessed with children; Paulette Perry, Paula Woods-Guy, Dexter and Dave Woods, fifteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
I am a strong believer in the Most High God, and thank Him every day for the love, mercy, and compassion that I receive. He gives me a renewed supply every day. Without Him I can do nothing. My help and strength, comes only from Him.
As a way of dealing with all the struggles I’ve been through, I started writing Prayer Poems to God and other poems. In 2017 I joined a senior’s poetry club; Golden Members Poetry Club and in 2018 we published a joint anthology Aye, Aye, Seniors Can Write Poetry Too! In my current book Conversations With My Granddaughter & Her Friends looks at my life growing up in Tobago, as I seek to guide my granddaughter and her friends by example through my experiences. My God has permitted me to see my three score and ten years, and with reason of strength, I will see another three score and ten. All things are possible with God.
